Verse of the Day

1 Peter 3:15 (KJV)
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”

Reflection:Abide in the Word, Testify of His Power

Sanctify the Lord in Your Heart
Peter exhorts believers to “sanctify the Lord God in your hearts,” which means to set apart Christ as holy, reverent, and central in your inner life. When Jesus is enthroned in our hearts, our entire being aligns with His truth. He becomes not only Savior but also Lord—and it reflects in how we think, speak, and live.
Always Be Ready to Give an Answer
The phrase “be ready always to give an answer” comes from the Greek word apologia, which means a reasoned defense. This isn’t about winning debates, but about offering a thoughtful and Spirit-filled explanation of the living hope we carry. The hope that sustains us is not theoretical—it is anchored in the resurrected Christ who is alive and active in us.
But how can we give such a testimony if we are not daily renewing our minds (Romans 12:2) in the Word of God? Abiding in the Word is not optional—it is the means by which we grow in understanding of spiritual things. The carnal mind cannot comprehend the things of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14). It is only through God’s Word and the illumination of the Holy Spirit that we can grasp and communicate the mysteries of Christ.
The Testimony of a Transformed Life
As we abide in Christ and His Word abides in us (John 15:7), we begin to walk in supernatural testimony. We speak not only of doctrines, but of experiences—of the miracles, healings, signs, and wonders God has done in our lives. Every answered prayer, every deliverance, every healing is part of the living hope we carry.
When we testify of what the Lord has done, we fulfill this verse with meekness and fear—humility and reverence. We don’t boast in ourselves, but in Christ. We speak with grace, yet with clarity, because the world is longing for a hope that doesn’t disappoint. And we have it.
Let us be people who are so deeply rooted in the Word that our lives overflow with authentic testimonies—not just words, but Spirit-empowered evidence of the Living God. May our readiness to testify be matched by lives that reflect the truth we proclaim.

Prayer

Prayer:
Father,
Help me to abide in Your Word and walk in the truth of Your Spirit. help me to renew my mind, that I may understand spiritual things and bear witness to the living hope within me.
I declare that my life be a testimony of Your power—of healing, of deliverance, of miracles and signs that point to Your glory. Give me boldness to speak when the opportunity arises, and let my words be seasoned with grace, spoken in humility and reverence.
Use me, Lord, as a vessel of truth and love in a world desperate for hope.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
